Dr. Mike Simmons has over 19 years experience in higher education administration, instruction and innovation with an emphasis on faculty support, education technology and assessment.  He leads a number of assessment innovation projects and pilot explorations at the University.  He was the director of the university's previous QEP - large course redesign and now leads the current Career Connect QEP that is developing comprehensive learner records, credentials, and inter-operable evidence of learning.  Dr. Simmons holds his Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington and is the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs at the University of North Texas, and his MPA from UNC Chapel Hill. He was previously the Assistant Vice President for Lifelong Learning at Texas Woman’s University where he was responsible for online education, faculty support, ed tech innovation, and continuing education.
